The Hunt Club area is one of Westport’s most bucolic settings. Named for the Fairfield County Hunt Club, a private equestrian facility dating back to 1923, area residents are often treated to the site of riders heading to the riding trails extending east into Greenfield Hill. Generally characterized by one acre zoning, the area is consistent and rural in feeling. Long Lots Road, lined with historic homes, is a beautiful alternative to the Post Road, connecting Central Westport to points east and providing access to North Avenue where both Staples High School and Bedford Middle School are located. The Rolnick Observatory on Bayberry Avenue offers residents opportunities to learn about astronomy. Generally, the Hunt Club is bordered by Post Road to the South and the Merritt Parkway to the North, and lies between North Avenue and the neighboring town of Greenfield Hill to the East.
